NORTH AUGUSTA, SC. (WFXG) - Is it a snow cone or ice cream? The world may never know, but the flavor and uniqueness of the shaved snow is undeniable. In fact, it’s a treat you can only find at Vampire Penguin.

Whether the window display catches your eye, or it’s the Halloween feel inside and out, you’ll notice a consistent theme in this newly opened shop.  Their décor is a combination of delight and whimsy, and the desserts are definitely decadent.

“This never gets old for us, never,” said Ryan Moseley, the co-owner of Vampire Penguin. “I will stand here every single day and watch it. For the people who have never had it, people who are trying it for the first time, their expression is wow.”

While we can’t show you the painstaking process, the end result may leave your taste buds in awe.

The most amazing part, according to Moseley: “Bowl, toppings, and everything total is 178 calories”

That’s how you get a sweet treat, without the guilt or the need to hit the gym after.

How these treats are made may be a secret. But what’s no secret: this is a really cool dessert spot, with an emphasis on the word cool.

For now, the growing fan base will help keep this dessert hot spot on ice.
