Shepeard Community Blood Center says they need blood donations now more than ever. They say COVID-19 canceled many of their blood drives and a pandemic doesn't stop the need for blood.  Since the outbreak, about 25 blood drives were canceled.

The blood center says many businesses and neighborhoods stepped up and helped put together blood drives.

On Tuesday, there are three drives around the CSRA:

  • Bridlewood Subdivision in Evans 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Ivy Falls Plantation 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • All South Roofing 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Shepeard made some changes due to the outbreak. They take appointments and only allow a certain amount of people in the mobile at a time.

Ashley Whitaker with the center says they're following the CDC guidelines as well as their already strict sanitization guidelines.
