AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) - It's a tale of twos "She started at four I started at five," said Aleynah Thomas. Two rackets…Two pairs of tennis shoes…And two young ladies. "I just like to swing free….yea swinging the racket," said Arien Thomas. They just happen to be sisters. "I like beating her!", said Arien. They have been playing tennis for years. "We practice four to five times a week. And we develop our skills," Aleynah explained. And their mother couldn't be more proud. "They are great children. I do not have to beg them to go to tennis practice. They're actually asking me," Andrea Thomas told FOX 54 News Now. For these young ladies, tennis has become a passion. "I like to hit the balls hard. But you have to have spin on the ball," both sisters said. And their coach thinks they have the drive to continue playing for years to come. "One of the strengths in Aleynah is her tenacity. Arien's strength has more to do with her power and he ability to hit out on her shots," said Michael Harden. Even though tennis is a top priority, their mother says education is still first. "Their grades are where we want them to be. They are great students as well. They perform well in school. They're A/B Honor Roll students." And when it comes to plans for the future, the sisters have several occupation in mind. "Tennis player…..and a writer….A professional tennis player….and cyber security….But, I really want to do both."
