AUGUSTA, GA. (WFXG) - The historic Edge Moor Railway Bridge was torn down Friday night.

GDOT said the deconstruction isn’t part of the expansion project happening in the area but it helps. The bridge hadn’t been used in years.

Earlier this week we told you how President Eisenhauer crossed over it to get to Washington D.C. but was an asset with helping troops and equipment deploy from Fort Gordon during World War II.
