WARRENVILLE, SC (WFXG) - The Warrenville 3-year-old boy who accidentally shot himself Monday night is dead.
On September 24, 2018, at approximately 6:45 pm, the Aiken County Sheriff's Office arrived at the 1100 block of Oxpens Road for reports of a child being shot. Deputies found the 911 caller and the child's mother in the front yard with a 3 year-old-male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Aiken County EMS responded to the scene and transported the child to an area hospital for emergency treatment.
It was later reported that the child was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The Aiken County Coroner's Office is assisting with this investigation as well. This investigation is still on-going and as information becomes available, it will be released.
The Aiken County Sheriff's Office is investigating an accidental shooting in Warrenville.
According to Capt. Eric Abdullah with the sheriff's office, a child was shot on Oxpens Rd. Monday evening. The call came in at around 6:45 p.m. The young boy, who is between the ages of 2 and 3, reportedly shot himself. He was taken to a local hospital. His condition is unknown as of the time of this article.
It's not currently known how the boy got ahold of the gun or if anyone will face charges.
