Doctors Hospital to Cut Ribbon and Preview $21.8 Million ER Expansion

Doctor's Hospital will soon be able to welcome more emergency patients. The hospital previewed its $28 million emergency room expansion with a ribbon cutting ceremony - and showing off new life saving tools and rooms.

Doctor's Hospital said more than 70,000 patients were treated in the ER last year. One of them, who was treated after suffering from a heart attack, gave a heartfelt account about his experience with the hospital at Tuesday night's event.

With more growth projected for the CSRA, it's a critical time to provide access for the community.

"This has been five years in the making so it's great to see it come to fruition and its great to see how beautifully it turned out and not only is it aesthetically appealing, but its efficient and its, again, focused on the patient," said Emergency department medical director Thomas Zickgraf.

It officially opens Tuesday, September 25th at 3 a.m. The expansion project features:

  • style="margin-left:0in;">Increase of beds from 26 to 36
