Augusta Animal Emergency collecting items for displaced animals

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) - The impact of Hurricane Florence has left some animals displaced and in need.  Augusta Animal Emergency employees are collecting various items to help these animals.

Immediate items needed include: old towels and blankets, pet carriers of all sizes, newspapers, pet beds and toys, dog and cat food. Donations are being accepted at their clinic and they will distribute them to various local groups and shelters over the next week. They are not accepting credit card donations by phone or in person, but they are accepting gift cards to pet stores.

If you can't give monetary donations local shelters and groups are always looking for volunteers to help walk and play with the dogs.

Augusta Animal Emergency is open 24 hours.
