Boil water advisory issued for Belle Meade Subdivision in Thomson

THOMSON, GA (WFXG) - The City of Thomson has issued a boil water advisory for the Belle Meade Subdivision after a water main break Tuesday afternoon.

The break happened near the intersection of Twin Pine and Surrey Rd. In order to fix the break, water service had to be shut down to a large part of the subdivision. The leak is expected to be repaired before 7 p.m. Tuesday evening, but the lingering hazard of a possible contamination still exists.

Residents in the affected areas are advised to boil their water before drinking, cooking, or preparing baby food until they are otherwise notified by the City of Thomson Water Department.

Resident in the following areas are affected:

  • Deer Trail
  • Fawn Run
  • Twin Pine, from its intersection with Lake Drive west until its intersects with Surrey Road
  • Foxwood
  • Fairway Dive
  • Carriage Drive
  • Surrey Drive from Stagecoach to its intersection with Twin Pine
