RICHMOND COUNTY, GA (WFXG) - Golden Harvest food bank now has the funds to feed more people in the CSRA. Jim Hudson Lexus of Augusta donated $30,000, which adds up to more than 99,000 meals, according to the food bank.
Hudson, the president and CEO of the dealership, said his goal is to donate a $1 million meals a year. He said his dealership prepares a year in advance to give such significant donations to various organizations.
"Most of the work that's done is done by people who donate their time unselfishly, because they're been blessed and they want to bless others. So you don't have to go but once and see the food line to realize that the work is absolutely the desire that we want to do because we are helping others," Hudson said.
Hudson said every time they sell a car, they donate a portion of the money from that sale to feed those who are less fortunate. He said Wednesday's contribution marks a total donation of 6 million meals from his dealership to the CSRA.
