AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) - Scamming victims have been swindled out of thousands of dollars because of a reloading scheme.
Scam artists keep, what they call, "sucker lists" with the names of people who have already been swindled. The "sucker lists" includes the victim's addresses, phone number, and other information.
They pretend to the FBI, IRS or with Homeland Security. They promise victims in exchange for a fee, they will get their money back from a previous scam.
Victims become so desperate to get their money back and quickly get scammed all over again.
Consumer experts say to never give personal information over the phone to anyone.
To report a scam, contact the Better Business Bureau.
