AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) - Every DQ Blizzard sold during this fundraiser will go toward PET/CT center for Children's Hospital of Georgia.
In the fall of 2015, the Children's Hospital of Georgia opened a new pediatric imaging suite with all the bells and whistles to attract children, while providing state-of-the-art radiology devices to diagnose and treat their illnesses.
However, there is still one more equipment package that doctors say will truly complete the award-winning project: a PET/CT center. This special equipment combination provides essential and precise information about the location, shape, and size of areas inside the body so that doctors can more quickly and accurately diagnose various health conditions and provide appropriate treatment.
You can help get this machine placed in the best location for the children who need it by purchasing a Blizzard at participating DQ stores on August 2, 2018. Miracle Treat Day. At least $1 of the proceeds from every Blizzard sold on Miracle Treat Day will go to the Children's Hospital of Georgia, the local Children's Miracle Network Hospital.
"Obviously every dollar counts when you're trying to raise the money for such a valuable piece of equipment," said Catherine Stewart, Associate Director of Development for Children's. "Local employers and staff may want to take advantage of the opportunity to place advance group orders with DQ to cool off during these dog days of summer.
