WAGENER, SC (WFXG) - A man was found dead in front of his Wagener home Monday – now friends of Kenneth Goodwin are speaking out.
They said they're all shocked that the man, who would give his shirt off his back, is dead.
Goodwin was dead for several days, laying under a tarp in front of his home. Peggy Brazier, a friend of Goodwin, said this does not sit well with her. "I was very upset when I heard it, the man did not deserve to die that way."
His friends say he deserved all the love and kindness he showed them every day. Goodwin's friends say they would see him five days a week at the senior center.
Carolyn Rushton, the Aiken Recreation Supervisor, said he was more than a friend, he was family. "He was a very giving, thoughtful man. And he would give you the last two dollars he had."
She said he was a gentleman through and through, ever since she met him in the 90's. "Always asking me, can I help you, you need some help with that can I tote that, can I do that," Rushton said.
Authorities don't have a suspect. They're seeking answers and looking for his missing red pick up truck. His neighbors are left wondering and feeling scared. But the fight continues for his friends until justice is served.
"His family here, his friends here we want to try to have his back and see that this is solved and whoever did this to him is put away," Rushton said.
