SOUTH CAROLINA (WFXG) - A Fort Gordon Airman passed away while on duty last week.
A press release from the Shaw Air Force Base says 34 year-old Tech. Sgt. Michael Clardy died on November 15 at approximately 7:30 p.m. in his work center. He was assigned to the 31st Intelligence Squadron (31st IS). The Airman was a mission manager and served in the Air Force since September 24, 2004.
"This is truly a tragic time for each member of our squadron, having to say goodbye to a beloved colleague," said Lt. Col. Andy Freeman, 31st IS commander. "This certainly weighs heavily on all of us, and our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends and fellow Airmen during this terrible time".
The incident remains under investigation, though no foul play is suspected.
