Fort Gordon hazard response exercise will raise security on installation

FORT GORDON, GA (WFXG) - Fort Gordon will conduct its annual all hazard response exercise next week.

The exercise is set to begin Monday, March 27 and run through Friday, March 31. Military and civilian personnel should expect delays traveling into and around the installation as more security searches are performed. On Thursday, officials recommend postponing non-official business until after the exercise is over.

The exercise will simulate a Category 3 hurricane making landfall on the Eastern Georgia coastline causing a breach at Butler Dam and flooding to Southeastern Augusta residents. The simulated breach causes civil unrest in the area.

All personnel should be extra vigilant during the heightened security.
