Body of missing elderly McDuffie County man found in pond

THOMSON, GA (WFXG) - UPDATE: According to the McDuffie County Sheriff's Office, the body of James Parks was found at around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.

Parks's body was found partially submerged in a post off of Noble Street in McDuffie County. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has been called in to assist with the investigation. The body will be sent to the GBI crime lab for an autopsy.

ORIGINAL STORY: The McDuffie County Sheriff's Office is looking for a missing man.

James Parks SR, a.k.a toocat, has been missing since 2:30 p.m. on Sunday.  He was last seen wearing a red, white, and black golf type striped shirt with slacks and a ball, glasses wearing New Valley shoes.  Mr. Parks left walking from his residence on the 1000 block of Wrightsboro road in Thomson.  He is 79 years old, 5'6" and weighs 180 pounds.  Mr. Parks is on medication for medical issues and has a pacemaker.
