Shots fired near Downtown Augusta, suspect arrested

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) - An Augusta man is behind bars after investigators say he fired several shots at another man near Downtown Augusta.

At around 9:56 a.m. Wednesday, the Richmond County Sheriff's Office was called out to the 700  block of Hall Street for a report of shots fired in the area. A short time later, a second call came in for shots fired on the nearby 1100 block of Twiggs Street. An investigation determined that the victim was twenty-nine-year-old Walter Donahoo. He was shot at several times but not injured.

The suspect, twenty-three-year-old Marcus Sims of the 1200 block of Summer Street, was arrested and is being held at the Charles B. Webster Detention Center. He is charged with Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Crime and Possession fo a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
