EVANS, GA (WFXG) - The Fourth of July celebrations were underway in the C-S-R-A this Fourth of July, and one of the biggest ones -- the Boom in the Park at Evans Towne Center Park had thousands attend.
Fans, covered tents and cooling areas were two of the newest -- and much utilized -- additions to the annual Boom in the
Park celebration this year.
"We decided to help our patrons and help our guests a little bit from the heat and we have tents set up with fans as well as cooling
centers with tables and chairs for their accommodation to be able to enjoy out of the sun," said event planner Lisa McCollum.
With temperatures that felt like they were in the 100's for much of the afternoon, staying cool was a priority for folks who came
to enjoy the live music, food and attractions.
With another Fourth of July celebration in the books, event planners will already move into the planning for next years event
"When the current year is finished we start going ahead and making plans for the following year. Columbia County is different
because we always celebrate the Fourth on the Fourth," said McCollum.
