EVANS, GA (WFXG) - It was island night that went to the cats and dogs.
The Pawprints Foundation hosted their 3rd Annual "Wags to Wishes" event at Taylor BMW Saturday night.
Hundreds turned out to the event for the silent and live auction which raised money for local no-kill shelters and animal rescue groups.
Dr. Nancy McNair of Pawprints Foundation says the economy has hurt the shelters and rescues, and she hopes the money raised can help them get back to their work.
"All of these groups work really hard to see that animals are taken care of properly," she says. "They give homes for them, to educate and to do spaying and neutering to try and cut down on overpopulation of animals, and that's why all these people are here."
