Multimedia Producer

Mikaela Thomas is a Multimedia Producer at WFXG - TV Augusta, she joined the team in March 2019.

Mikaela is a beloved Thomson, Georgia native and Thomson High School graduate, who at an early age developed an interest in media, news, and journalism. In an attempt to make her dreams a reality, Mikaela made a commitment to furthering her education at Clayton State University (Morrow, Georgia) by obtaining her Bachelor's in Communications and Media Studies. Mikaela is also a member of the National Association of Black Journalist (NABJ)

After a few years in the Atlanta area, Mikaela made her way back to the CSRA, a place which she considers home. Before breaking into news here at WFXG, Mikaela's career focused in on brand marketing for events and social media.

Equipped with the mind of a mogul and the heart for serving others, Mikaela has dedicated time to women, youth, and the elderly throughout her community. Today and everyday, she strives to live by the great words of political activist, Cornel West , "You've got to be a thermostat, rather than a thermometer. A thermostat shapes the climate of opinion, a thermometer just reflects it."

In her free time, Mikaela enjoys sports, spending time with her nephew Max, and spending time with her dog, Lyric.

Mikaela loves creating content and the art of story-telling. She looks forward to hearing your stories and bringing forth news that matters to you. Feel free to email her at mthomas@wfxg.com or follow her on Twitter or Facebook.
