Cortney Hicks

Anchor

“A Motown girl in a Georgia peach world” is how Cortney coins this new chapter in her life as she joined the WFXG Fox 54 news team in July 2019. With more than 25 years of Radio and TV broadcast experience, Cortney looks forward to starting your day as Morning Anchor and also looks forward to serving the CSRA community.

Cortney is the oldest, the only girl of 4 and a very proud Detroiter with West Indian roots. She’s a classically trained vocalist, former print model and even starred in an episode of the Discovery Channel’s “Who the Bleep Did I Marry”. Coincidentally, the episode was about the real-life story of a Fort Gordon soldier whose wife survived their scandalous marriage. She made a guest appearance in an off-Broadway production of “The Color Purple” and has worked with a myriad of media personalities such as Dr. Oz and Roland Martin. One of the biggest highlights of her career came when Cortney was granted the privilege of hosting one of former President Obama’s 2012 Inaugural Balls and traveling around the D.C. area with former First Lady Michelle Obama as a part of the press core for her 2011 “Let’s Move” campaign.

When not in the Newsroom, Cortney enjoys watching documentaries, chatting with family and friends, traveling, cooking and the Ocean!
