AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) - Now that the cold weather has hit our area, members at The Salvation Army Center of Hope are making sure they’re prepared as they bring people in.
Friday night, the center is having a “bad weather night” meaning they will have no charge for admission.
Normally, the center rolls out 100 mats, but due to the cold front coming in late Friday night, they are adding 25 extra mats to accommodate as many people as possible. “We’re here to meet human needs without discrimination. That is our goal, to make sure we take care of as many folks as we can," Chris Bailey, Marketing and PR Manager says.
The Salvation Army tells FOX 54 they are not letting anyone check out of their facility until temperatures rise over forty degrees.
