UPDATE: Victim in Trinity Manor Apartments shot after suspect enters through back door

One person injured in shooting at Trinity Manor Apartments

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) - According to Richmond County dispatch, one person was shot and injured at Trinity Manor Apartments.

Dispatch states that the call came in around 11:24 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7 and was reported with one male being injured.

The incident report states that the victim was found by deputies in the apartment on the floor screaming with a gunshot wound to the stomach area.

The witness told deputies that he was in the apartment at the time of the incident, sitting on the couch with a baby when he heard a knock at the back door of the apartment. According to the witness, the victim let the unknown suspect in the home and sat back down in a recliner chair. The unknown suspect then pulled out a tan and black firearm, as if the suspect was attempting to show the victim the firearm.

The suspect then fired a round into the stomach of the victim and fled on foot through the back door.

The witness was unable to identify who the suspect was.

The victim was treated at a local hospital and his injuries are non-life threatening.

This investigation is on going and the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office will provide updates once they are made available.
