AIKEN, SC (WFXG) - Aiken County Law Enforcement were called onto a scene at South Aiken High School for possible shots fired.
According to Sgt. Jake Mahoney of Aiken County, the call came in at 3:30 p.m. after school dismissal. Sgt. Mahoney said that a dispute is believed to have begun at a nearby shopping center between multiple parties. The dispute then made its way to the far end of the South Aiken High School senior parking lot near South Aiken Blvd. and Corporate Pkwy.
There was one shot fired during the dispute and no injuries or property damage were reported as a result of the shot.
One subject was arrested during the investigation. Sgt. Mahoney said a 20-year-old male was arrested on unrelated charges for trespassing onto the school’s property.
Aiken County’s Youth Services and Criminal Investigators are continuing their investigation and expect to provide more details Wednesday, Sept. 11.
