AUGUSTA (WFXG) - 29-year-old Neisheena K. Griffin (pictured) was arrested and charged with five counts of aggravated assault after a shooting early Friday morning at Edge nightclub.

Deputies said that just after 1:00 a.m., there was a verbal dispute between Griffin and five other people inside the nightclub. After the six were asked to leave by a nightclub employee, Griffin retrieved a firearm and began shooting at a vehicle with the other five people inside as they tried to leave.

25-year-old Jaelynn Huff suffered a single gunshot wound to the left side of her head. She was taken to Augusta University Medical Center where she is in critical but stable condition.

ORIGINAL STORY: The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an early Friday morning shooting at the Edge Nightclub in Augusta.

A witness tells FOX 54 that the shooting happened outside the nightclub with several shots fired. At least one person was injured according to the witness.
