Georgia voter registration deadline is Tuesday, October 9

Election Day is a month away

Georgia voter registration deadline is Tuesday, October 9
Oct. 9 is the deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 6 midterm elections.

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) - Did you know? The deadline to register to vote in Georgia - online, by mail and in person - is tomorrow.

The League of Women Voters of the CSRA is registering people and giving them information about polling places, absentee ballots and ways to learn about their candidates.

The organization is planning several events in Richmond County to teach residents ways to distinguish political facts from fake information so you can be more informed ahead of election day on Tuesday, November 6th.

“That one vote does count - especially in local elections. And we’re doing the board of education, in local elections, sometimes those are decided by 10 votes, one vote. In Virginia they did a flip of the coin. I don’t want a flip of the coin deciding who is going to be my representative," said Gayla Keesee, voter services chair for League of Women Voters.

The group will be at the Goodwill on Peach Orchard Road Tuesday. CLICK HERE to learn more about voter registration.
