COLUMBIA COUNTY, GA (WFXG) - A broken power pole is causing a traffic hazard in Columbia County.

According to the Columbia County Sheriff's Office, the broken pole is at the intersection of N. Belair Rd. and University Pkwy. Georgia Power says a tree fell on the pole, causing it to break.

The traffic light at the intersection has been repaired and traffic is moving again. However, the pole has not been repaired.

Editor's Note: We originally reported that Georgia Power was responsible for the pole breaking, as this was the information given to us by Columbia County dispatch. Georgia Power has responded, informing FOX 54 that a tree fell on the pole, causing it to break.
