AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) - Leadership Augusta revealed the class of 2019 on August 16 at the Augusta Museum of History. The class is made up of 40 professionals in the Augusta area. They now all have the opportunity to learn more about the community through this program.
It is a 10 month long program, starting in August and ending in May. The young leaders get the chance to learn about different facets of Augusta. They get to learn about history, arts and culture, economic development, healthcare, and criminal justice in our city. People involved in the program say it is all about moving a needle for change in the city of Augusta. James Hefner, Chair for the 2019 class, said, "All of us are trying to pay it forward in some way. We are looking for creative ways that we can have an impact."
People who are interested in being part of Leadership Augusta can begin applying for the 2020 class in February. It is known to be a competitive process. You can find the application and more information on the organization here.
