Augusta Chapter of NAREB Set To Open

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

Augusta is getting its own chapter with the National Association of Real Estate Brokers at the end of this month.

The national convention is going to be held in Atlanta in two weeks, where the chapter will officially be chartered.

This group is open to anyone who is interested in bettering the community, but its main objective is making sure that everyone has the opportunity to have fair housing.

The founding president, Shaquanna Wilson, said, "I did not see anything like that here in Augusta, Georgia, as far as the housing market, so we decided to bring it here."

Wilson is also a realtor for Keller-Williams Augusta. She said this organization is important for bringing together people working in real estate from all agencies, as well as connecting with the community as a whole.

She and her chapter will be hosting interest meetings and membership drives in the coming months.

You can find more information on this organization here.

You can also contact Wilson directly at 706-619-1336.

Election day is Tuesday, July 23. Over 200,000 people went to the polls in the last two weeks to vote early. Columbia County was ranked number six in the state for total early voter turnout. Of the 200,000 people who came out, over 160,000 of them were casting ballots for the Republican Party. That might be because of the races on the ballots.
