There was large police presence reported around 3:00 p.m. today in Aiken around Laurens Street and Richland Avenue.

Aiken Public Safety has confirmed that the incident started out as a domestic dispute in the shopping center of a Sears Hometown Store on Richland Avenue.

Two people witnessed the incident and tried to help the female victim when the man involved in the dispute pulled out a gun. He drove off, striking a vehicle across Richland Avenue.

Police later stopped a car on Laurens Street, questioning if it was involved in the earlier dispute.

This is an ongoing investigation. So far, a weapon has not been recovered and there has been no arrest made in this case. No one is reported injured but a vehicle was struck.

Our reporter Jasmine Anderson was on the scene gathering information and video.
