AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

First Alert meteorologist Pierce Legeion took weather out on the road in Augusta Monday morning from the James Brown Arena.

The exhibition hall first opened in 1974 while the arena itself opened in 1980. It was originally called the Augusta-Richmond County Civic Center and was renamed the James Brown Arena in 2006. This made it one of just two arenas named for an African American in the country, the other being the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit.

Monday forecast: Sunshine and blue sky. Humidity stays on the comfortable side with highs back in the low 90's.
