14th Annual SRS Softball Tournament to benefit United Way
National Nuclear Security Administration announces SRS will be home for more than 50 plutonium pits made for nuclear weapons

Savannah River Site (SRS) employees will compete in the 14th annual SRS Softball Tournament to benefit local United Way agencies. A portion of the proceeds raised will be donated to each team's agency of choice. The United Way Softball Tournament achieved over $19,000 last year, which was distributed among 15 different United Way agencies. This year, there will be over 270 players and coaches on 18 teams participating.

Date & Time:        Wednesday, June 20, 6-10 p.m.
Location:         Citizens Park, Fields 1-6 & 8
Note:  Fields 1-5 are in Phase 1, located off Banks Mill Rd., Aiken; Fields 6 and 8 are in Phase 2, Off Old Airport Rd., Aiken

The tournament is open to the public. SRS employees and non-SRS employees will play in the co-ed, single elimination tournament. Teams representing multiple SRS contractor companies will be represented including Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, Savannah River Remediation and Parsons. Wyatt Clark, Senior Vice President of EM Operations, will throw the ceremonial first pitch during the opening ceremony.
