AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

Richmond County Fire/EMA is on the scene of a house fire in Augusta.

The fire broke out Friday morning at a home on the 2000 block of Ashley Drive in Augusta. According to officials, no one was home at the time.

The fire is still under investigation.

    25 wheelchair athletes from the Charlie Norwood VA Hospital competed in the National Veterans Wheelchair games in Orlando, Florida on the week of August 2. These athletes competed in various sports, ranging from bowling to table tennis to softball to quad rugby, and so much more. One of these athletes won gold with his team, but that is not his only accomplishment since suffering a spinal injury in 2004.

    We now know the fate of the man who caused a crash that killed an airman stationed at Fort Gordon. Juan Castillo-Reyes pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide and driving without a license. He will serve 5 years in jail before being deported by ICE.
