AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

Twenty-eight-year-old Andrew Cato is still missing but his family and friends are not losing hope.

On Wednesday, May 16 a vigil was held in honor of his birthday. Family members did not want people bring candles, balloons, or flowers; they wanted everyone to come as they were to the vigil. They want to wait until Cato's return home. The vigil was held at 8 pm. in the courtyard of First Christian Church.

Cato was last seen May 5th after visiting his mother and his car was found. Cato's friend says it's unlike him to go missing and be absent from social media. "Andrew is always on his phone, he's always on Facebook, you know you can post something on Facebook you can look for Andrew to reply and it is always something funny.", says Wayne Stanley.

Cato is being described as 5'7" and weighing around 180 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

If you have any information about where he might be please call the Richmond County Sheriff's Office.
