AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) - A local sheriff's office is set to receive a donation of anti-overdose medication, Tuesday. The donor is the JD Paugh Memorial Ride – a ride that remembers fallen Richmond County deputy, JD Paugh who was killed in the line of duty.
The ride is aimed at raising funds to help local law enforcement. The Burke County Sheriff's Office will receive 40 packs of Narcan nasal sprays from ride organizers.
"This donation in excess of $2,000.00 is greatly appreciated and could certainly help to save a life," chief deputy, Lewis Blanchard said.
Narcan is used to reverse opioid overdoses, from drugs such as heroin and fentanyl.
