Family & friends searching for any signs that point to missing 28-year-old

RICHMOND COUNTY, GA (WFXG) -

FOX 54 has learned new information about a man who has been missing for more than a week in Richmond County. The Sheriff's Department recovered the car that missing 28-year-old Andrew Cato was last seen driving, but still no signs of him.

"I don't want to leave any stone unturned, I want to find him," says Ravonna Cibak, mother of 28-year-old Andrew Cato.

She decided to help effort a search group for him. "This is not like him. He is the prankster, he is the jokester, he is the one who is there to help you lift that big refrigerator that you got to get into the kitchen or whatever," she says.

Saturday is the last time Cibak says she heard from her 28-year-old son. "The understanding is that if you don't come home you text me and let me know."

She tells FOX 54 he went to see the mother of his child that evening not too far away from Brickyard Ponds on Gordon Highway, where now family and friends search for any clues. There were no signs of either the car or Cato until Thursday when the Sheriff's Department said it found the Ford Focus on Dogwood Terrace.

"I am scared to death that something has happened to him and I don't know where he is," the mother says.

But for now, all this mother says she can do is hope, pray, and continue to search the area hoping to find signs of her grandchildren's father. "I am shattered. I am holding on by a thread, I keep pulling up to the driveway and expecting him to be there."

Cibak tells FOX she'll be searching as much as she can until Cato is found. There's already a search scheduled to happen early Saturday morning.
