Aiken police looking for suspect in hit-and-run

AIKEN, SC (WFXG) -

The Aiken Department of Public Safety needs help locating a vehicle, and the driver, involved in a hit and run crash.

A bicyclist was hit Sunday, April 29, 2018. The collision happened in the 3100 block of Whiskey Road near Citadel Drive. Authorities believe the collision is believed to have occurred between 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. The victim, a twenty-eight-year-old man, was taken to an Augusta hospital with serious injuries.

Investigators believe the vehicle involved in the collision is a 1999-2002 Chevrolet Silverado or GMC Sierra. No further information on the vehicle is available. No vehicle color is known at this time.

    The Richmond County Sheriff's Office is investigating a homicide in Hephzibah. The sheriff's office was called out to the 1400 block of Hehzibah McBean Rd. shortly before 2 p.m. Monday. When they arrived, deputies found two men in the midst of a physical altercation.

    An Aiken County man is in custody after witnesses say he ran over a toddler at a North Augusta apartment complex. According to an incident report from North Augusta Public Safety, officers were called out to Conifer Ct. Saturday night for reports that a child had been hit by a vehicle.
