Passport Fair held at USPS on 8th street

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

The USPS on 8th street held a Passport Fair to allow residents to come in apply and pay for their passport. Residents were able to take their photo on site and complete the process. If you’re looking to order your passport, remember that you cannot pay with a debit or credit online. You can only use your card in a physical post office.

Residents should also remember that during high volume vacation times there could be a slight delay in receiving your passport. “Well now, I guess people are going on summer vacations. We have a lot of people applying. So the sooner you know that you’re traveling the better to go ahead and get that application in," says Valerie Dickerson, with USPS.

There is a $60 fee for anyone who would like to have their passport expedited. Expect to receive your passport within 2-3 weeks after the process is complete.
