GROVETOWN, GA (WFXG) - This week on High 5 4 Kids, we're introducing you to one 11th grader who can already say she's traveling the world playing music.
For 16-year-old Jaida Jenkins, her daily life starts and ends with one word, Time Management. "There's a lot of homework and rehearsal after rehearsal," says Jenkins.
This Junior at Davidson Fine Arts is a part of several volunteer organization including the Red Cross, plays 5 instruments, and aspires to work in the medical field one day. But right now her passion is set elsewhere.
"Acting and music they both have my heart," she says.
Jenkins is part of the James Brown Academy of Music Pupils based in Augusta. "We travel the world, we play music James Browns Music and we play various artists music like Bruno Mars or Taylor Swift or Stevie Wonder," Jenkins says.
She says the group already won 3 awards and it's eying several more within the next couple of months.
But no matter what country she's performing in or how many hours is spent in a gym practicing for her next school play, She says her priorities are already straight. "I have to manage my time by either doing my homework before the rehearsal or on the way to rehearsal."
Because being part of a team performing classic hits in front of hundreds is what makes it all worth it.
Jenkins says she's unsure what college she wants to attend but has her eyes set on becoming either a pediatrician, dentist, nurse or physical therapist.
