Cabela's and National Rifle Association partner together to offer gun safety courses

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

Today, Cabela's Augusta held an annual event to kick off the first day of Deer Season.

Courtney Davis, Retail Marketing Manager, emphasizes the need to totally learn gun safety:

"Every year, we pair twice with the NRA to help them get memberships and also teach classes here in the store."

"We want to make sure that the safest firearms are the ones people know very well, and the ones that they know how to take care of."

Participants may sign up for, fortunately, New Shooter Classes, Shotgun Cleaning Classes, and Well Armed Woman classes. Get involved in registering all weekend and receive a twenty five dollar Cabela's gift card as well as free trigger locks. Parents can teach children about this through Cabela's Eddie Eagle Program, too.

For weeks the elves have been working around the clock to turn the Augusta Common into a winter wonderland.
