NORTH AUGUSTA, SC (WFXG) -

Students at North Augusta High School will see more security than usual Thursday, April 20.

This comes after North Augusta Public Safety investigated social media rumors claiming there would be a threat at the school. Although no true threat was detected, precautions have been taken regardless. Students and faculty can expect to see an increase in law enforcement presence.

No one in that area should be alarmed. Officials say that "the safety of students and staff members at North Augusta High School is of utmost importance to our District and community", also mentioning that they ensure that the school day is like any other day.
