ORANGEBURG COUNTY, SC (WIS) -

The victim of a suspicious death being investigated by the Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office has been identified.

Investigators were called to a mobile home on Joe Jeffords Highway on Monday where 52-year-old Scott Allen Brooks was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head.

The sheriff's office was called by a concerned citizen just before 2 p.m. to check on Brooks, who was their coworker. The citizen was there to give his Brooks a ride to work and said it was out of character for him to be late.

When an OCSO deputy arrived, the deputy made entry into the home where Brooks was found dead on the floor.

The sheriff's office continues to investigate Brooks' death. If anyone has any information on the incident, they are asked to call the OCSO at 803-534-3550.
