(CNN) - CNN has learned that the White House fence jumper was on the grounds for 15 minutes before being caught according to a Secret Service source.

President Donald Trump said last Saturday that the arrested suspect, 26-year-old Jonathan Tran, was disturbed.

The source says Tran set off multiple alarms when he trespassed White House grounds, but security failures allowed him to bypass other sensors.

The source also believes Tran may have snuck past an East Wing guard post that's not routinely staffed.

An official says Tran was found lurking around Pennsylvania Avenue as early as 6 p.m. Friday, nearly six hours before he was arrested just steps from a main door to the mansion.

Secret Service officials are conducting a formal mission assurance review of the incident.
