AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

Bars and restaurants downtown have been preparing for the St. Patrick's Day celebration for days now. And they're expecting big crowds for today's parade.

A number of bars and restaurants that surround 1102 Downtown Bar and Grill are coming together to support the bar in their time of need. A group of bars will raise money from St. Patrick's Day specials to help out the employees of 1102.

Most of the bars open up at 11:00 a.m., well in advance of the parade so parade-goers will have plenty of opportunities to eat and drink before and after the parade. Local bar managers say they are here to support 1102 and their customers. Farmhaus Burger manager Casey Johnson says downtown coming together is no surprise. "We're always a community down here. Any time they need something, you know every now and then they'll come down here and ask us for a little help and vice-versa, you know. It's the whole thing about going to your neighbor and borrowing a cup of sugar." Farmhaus Burger is just one block away from 1102 Downtown Bar and Grill.

There will also be t-shirts for sale downtown during the parade that will go to support those affected by the fire at 1102. Those shirts are 15 dollars
