RALEIGH, NC (RNN) - A five-alarm fire broke out at a downtown apartment building under construction Thursday night.

Although initial reports said firefighters feared people could be trapped inside another high-rise building that began to burn, WRAL.com reported, the Raleigh Police Department later said in a statement that no one was found to be injured.

"No indication of anyone trapped in the building," the City of Raleigh tweeted. "No known injuries."

Nearby buildings were being evacuated, WRAL said.

More than 200 people lost power as a result of the fire, and there were reports of explosions heard at nearby parking decks.

The cause of the fire is unknown, but is under investigation
