HAPPENING TODAY: North Augusta Christmas tree lighting

NORTH AUGUSTA, SC (WFXG) -

If you're planning to attend North Augusta's annual tree lighting, it has been postponed until Thursday, Dec. 1. The Christmas tree lighting will start at 5:00 p.m. at Calhoun Park at the intersection of Georgia And Carolina avenues and go until 6:30 p.m.

Mayor Lark Jones will flip the switch and turn on the city's holiday lights. The event was originally scheduled to take place Tuesday.

    A pedestrian is dead after bumping into a vehicle and falling onto the pavement in Augusta. The incident happened Friday night around midnight on Saint Sebastian Way at Walton Way near downtown Augusta. Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen says the seventy-eight-year-old man was taken to Augusta University Medical Center, where died just before 9 a.m. the next morning.
