EMANUEL COUNTY, GA (WFXG) -

In Emanuel County, a woman has died and a man is recovering from gunshot wounds. The sheriff’s office says 48-year-old Kenneth Gillis and 40-year-old Angela Gillis were both shot inside a home on King Circle Drive around 1:30 a.m. on Monday, July 11, 2016.

Angela Gillis was pronounced dead at the hospital. Kenneth Gillis is listed in stable condition.

Sheriff J. Tyson Stephens says a shooter (or shooters) fired several bullets at the house from the road. Most of the shots were directed at the master bedroom. The sheriff does not believe this shooting was random.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is helping with the case.

If you saw anything or know anything that could help investigators, call the sheriff’s office at (478) 237-7526 or the GBI’s Eastman Office at (478) 364-6988. All information will remain confidential.
