AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

There’s a vigil to pray for justice and peace, and it’s set for Friday evening in Augusta. It will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Augusta at 3501 Walton Way Extension on Friday, July 8th. The program of prayer, readings and hymns begins at 6 p.m. That will be followed by discussions about the safety of the community.

This interfaith community gathering is sponsored by the Augusta NAACP Branch, Unitarian Universalist Church of Augusta and Augusta Interfaith Coalition. It was planned in response to the deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile earlier this week.
