MCDUFFIE COUNTY, GA (WFXG) - The man killed in a crash in McDuffie County has been identified. Georgia State Patrol says 19-year-old Walden Widener was not wearing a seatbelt. The Thomson man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators believe Widener was in a vehicle that failed to stop at the stop sign at Wire Road and State Route 12. That car collided with a second vehicle. Three other people were hurt, but we do not have their conditions at this time.
GSP suspects either alcohol or drugs played a role in this crash. No charges have been filed at this time.
