RICHMOND COUNTY, GA (WFXG) - Phase 4 of the Windsor Spring Road widening project is underway. It requires a temporary lane closure, starting Wednesday, April 27. According to Georgia DOT, the lane will be shut down from Laurel Oak Drive to Turkey Trail Drive. Contractors will be installing a new eight-inch water main.
The closure will be in effect from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. each day. If weather cooperates, crews plan to complete the work by the end of Friday, April 29.
GDOT asks drivers to pay attention and slow down.
This work is part of the Phase 4 Windsor Spring Road project beginning south of the intersection of Windsor Spring Road and Willis Foreman Road and ending at the intersection of Tobacco Road. This is approximately a 3.3-mile stretch of road. The project is scheduled to be finished by April 30, 2017. The $30 million Windsor Spring Road widening phase is partially funded by the Transportation Investment Act (TIA).
