AIKEN, SC (WFXG) -

Fire Investigators with Aiken Department of Public Safety have arrested and charged 53-year-old Michael Odom Sr. for possession of a stolen automobile and three counts of Arson.

The Aiken Department of Public Safety says one of the fires happened at the 2nd Judicial Circuit Public Defender’s Office in late February. Investigators describe the damage to the office as “substantial”.

On the same day, fire crews also responded to a vehicle and building fire on Aldrich Street. Investigators learned the vehicle was set on fire on purpose. That fire then spread to the vacant home. Both the vehicle and home were destroyed.

Investigators later determined the burned vehicle was a 1998 Ford F-150 that had been stolen from a business in Saluda, SC, several days before the fire.
